dorsetmorriarty This is such a wonderful album. Superb songs and singing. The track Dwelling by the Weir brings to mind Joni Mitchell, it is that good. Favourite track is Waking up to Stone. Fabulous! Favorite track: Waking up to Stone.

chrisbrainmusicpurchases Theres personal meditations and strong pastoral imagery whilst treading the line of contemporary and traditional folk. A very strong debut from Ellie and a voice to match! Favorite track: Waking up to Stone.

about

This album came together naturally over lockdown when I had time on my hands to explore the place I had grown up. After being away from home for so long, it was nice to return (albeit not under the best circumstances cough covid cough) and delve into the history of Warwickshire, taking a look at the people and stories who have shaped it into the home it is today.

There are themes of love, loss, nostalgia, and belonging; themes that I’m sure we can all find a meaning in one way or another.

Nina Bailey, a Warwickshire-based musician and creative, designed this beautiful artwork. Over lockdown, I spent a lot of time swimming and following the path of the river Avon which cuts through where I live. A favourite spot in particular is the Saxon Mill in Warwick. It’s home to a beautiful old mill and is situated on the River Avon which carves out the land beneath Guys Cliffe; a very spooky but gorgeous place to swim. It was this place that sparked the idea for Dwelling by the Weir and it’s this place that I wanted as the artwork.

I can’t thank you all enough for the support and for making this album release possible. It took a whole pandemic to create it and I can’t wait for it to finally be out in the world! 🌍
